2007 Grant Recipients
The 2007 KJM Symposium and Gala Dinner which took place in November proved to be a huge success. Attendees to this year’s Symposium “Patients, Paramedics and Progress” received some important information about the latest technologies and treatments which will assist them in providing world class care to patients.
The 2007 KJM Award winners were announced at the Gala Dinner. The recipients of these awards were as follows:
Patron’s Research Grant - Ian Unverzagt , Darrin Burgess , David Wharton, James
Thompson
Research topic - The efficacy of mechanical ventilation of intubated patients in intensive
care paramedicine.
QAS Research & Development Grant - Scott Harris & Matt Green
Research topic - Mentoring: Are we helping all staff to achieve their best?

QAS Professional Development Grant - John Hinder
Development topic - To devise clinical checking systems that assist us as a team to
perform clinical procedures.

QAS Outstanding Student Paramedic Graduate of the Year Award - Michele Dalton
