Brisbane Region
The Brisbane Region is centred on the city of Brisbane, stretching up the Brisbane River valley to Kilcoy and includes the Moreton Bay Islands from Bribie Island south to the Logan River.
The Brisbane Region is the most densely populated location in the State with approximately 1.8 million people. It includes the most rapidly growing urban and industrialised areas of Queensland as well as a range of rural and pastoral areas.
The State's leading health care institutions are located in this Region. Ambulance services are provided from 30 stations staffed by full-time paramedics and 9 locations providing a comprehensive range of ambulance services.
To meet diverse community needs, the Brisbane Region employs Intensive and Advanced skilled paramedics and assists the Water Police, Volunteer Marine Rescue and Helicopter Rescue crews.
Members of the community are encouraged to become involved in the Chain-of-Survival by enrolling in First Aid Courses and through voluntary service in either a First-Responder or Honorary Officer capacity (where programs are in place). To help provide the earliest possible intervention for people who have suffered cardiac arrest, the Region is actively encouraging groups, organisations and businesses to purchase and be trained in the use of Automatic External Defibrillators.

Local Ambulance Committees
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) is a community based, client focused organisation. Since 1991 Local Ambulance Committees (LACs) were formed to ensure the ambulance service stays in touch with the people it serves. LACs are made up of volunteer members who provide feedback to the Brisbane Region on its performance and on community issues relating to ambulance services in the region. LACs manage funds that they raise locally and ensure those funds remain in the community and benefit the local ambulance service.
Twenty-two LACs are located throughout the region. Your LAC would welcome your interest. The following is a list of the contact names and addresses, in alphabetical order of towns, for the Local Ambulance Committees (LACs) in the Brisbane Region:
