Stand-by at Special Events
The Queensland Ambulance Service can provide a dedicated service for large public gatherings and sporting events. For example, crews and a mobile Headquarters Unit attended the Centenary of Federation Parade and the Olympic Torch relay in Townsville. Crews also attend the Birdsville races, Mt Isa rodeo, and regular horse racing and drag racing events in Townsville and other centres. Other special sporting events such as football matches may also require ambulance attendance.
In order to arrange such assistance at an event, contact your local manager or Officer in Charge to discuss the resources required and the cost of the service.
