Volunteer Drivers
Volunteer drivers are volunteer Queensland Ambulance Service officers who drive operational ambulance vehicles and provide physical support under the supervision of a qualified and authorised Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic.
Volunteer drivers undergo network driver training, must have a current senior first aid certificate, are familiarised with basic Queensland Ambulance Service equipment and undergo a safe lift program.
The Queensland Ambulance Service utilises volunteer drivers in certain rural and remote communities.
