Wynnum Ambulance Museum

Explore the history of ambulance services in Queensland from the early 1900s to today at the Wynnum Ambulance Museum. The museum is in a heritage-listed building and features historical ambulances, medical equipment and photos.
See how ambulance care has changed—from hand-held stretchers to motorised vehicles. The museum also includes a 1930s-style casualty and communication room.

Charters Towers Ambulance Museum

Visit Queensland’s oldest surviving purpose-built ambulance station, opened in 1903. This was the first station outside Brisbane and served an area the size of Tasmania.
The museum holds a unique collection of memorabilia including uniforms, equipment and logbooks. See Australia’s oldest continually registered ambulance—an original Ford model.

Highfields Pioneer Village Museum—Ambulance exhibit

This exhibit shows how ambulance care has developed over time. See first aid kits, uniforms and memorabilia from both World Wars.
Explore historical ambulances and medical tools, and learn how early paramedics responded to emergencies.
The exhibit is part of Highfields Pioneer Village, which has more than 70 heritage buildings including a transport museum, fire brigade museum and Southern Cross Museum.
